Michelle des Bouillons was born in Rio de Janeiro and comes from a family that has surfing in its blood. She made her own surfboards with her father at a young age and spent her youth in the waves of Rio at the foot of Sugarloaf Mountain. Her origins and connection to our oceans made her an active protector of our oceans from an early age.
Today, Michelle is one of the few women who call the biggest waves in the world home every year, like in Nazaré, where 30-metre high waves are not uncommon, where she demonstrates all her skill and courage.
