The terms are often used interchangeably. Eternity ring usually describes a ring whose band is fully set with diamonds. Memory ring is the broader term and also covers rings with a partial setting, where only the visible section carries stones. A ring with a partial setting is easier to resize and sits flatter against the palm.

Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically and optically identical to mined diamonds. The difference lies solely in how they come into being: they grow under controlled conditions in a laboratory rather than over millions of years in the earth. They are assessed by the same criteria – cut, colour, clarity and carat – and are indistinguishable from mined diamonds to the naked eye.

Yes. Many couples deliberately choose a fully set ring as their wedding band; others wear it as a third ring alongside the engagement and wedding bands, or to mark a later occasion. The only thing to keep in mind is that a setting running all the way around limits later resizing. The ring size should therefore be determined precisely from the outset.

This varies by region and is, beyond that, a personal decision. In Germany, Austria, Poland, Norway and Spain the wedding band is traditionally worn on the right hand; across much of Western Europe, in North and South America and in Turkey on the left. Some couples move the engagement ring to the other hand after the ceremony, others wear both rings together. There is no right or wrong here – what matters is what feels right for the two of you.

Both precious metals are suited to jewellery worn every day. 18k gold offers different colour worlds in yellow, white and rose gold. Platinum 950 has a naturally bright tone and a higher intrinsic weight, which makes it feel different on the finger than gold. The choice therefore depends not only on appearance but also on the feel you prefer.

For a wedding band the ring size should be determined as precisely as possible, since the width and shape of the band can affect how it feels. On wider models in particular, the same ring size can feel different than on a narrow ring. We therefore recommend a professional sizing and are glad to advise you personally.

Only to a limited extent. With a setting that runs all the way around, the band cannot simply be shortened or widened without altering the setting. Rings with a partial setting offer considerably more scope, since the stone-free section can be worked. We assess every model individually and recommend having the size determined professionally before ordering a fully set ring.

Every wedding band is created in our atelier in Pforzheim. It is made after your order, in the chosen colour of metal, width and ring size – any engraving is carried out there as well. Because each ring is made individually, production takes more time than it would for stock pieces.
